If you’ve been following me for a while, you may remember that a couple of years ago I restructured how I do brand and web projects and completely elevated the client experience. From the quality of the designs to the thoughtful process from start to finish, it has been a game changer for clients and their brands and that part of my business won’t be changing.
The other half of my business involves what I call "hourly design work" where quite literally dollars are exchanged for hours. This is the side of my business that will be undergoing a major revamp that I will be launching soon! I am confident that this update will be as beneficial for clients as the previous change was by elevating the client experience and quality of work I am able to produce.
So What is Changing?
After a time of reflection and researching, I have decided to shift my business from offering hourly rates to offering day rates. The day rate model is honestly something I've been playing around with behind the scenes for years.
Check out this blog post from my first ever Design Day that I booked back in 2021. Since then, I quietly offered this service on the side, but never quite knew how best to make the transition to doing Design Days full time. I've continued to hold onto the day rate concept until the timing felt right. Fast forward to 2023, and here we are!
A day rate means that you will be able to book me for a full ‘Design Day’ or a half day, depending on the size of the project scope or how many projects you have in the queue.
What this means for you, as a business owner, is that I can dedicate my full attention and focus on your projects, rather than multi-tasking and juggling many diverse projects at a time. This dedicated attention to your projects will result in:
decreased timelines
more predictable pricing
more efficient use of time spent on projects
more focused, high quality work
What Can We Do in a Day?
Have a laundry list of design tasks? Let's get those taken care of in a day! Here are just a few ideas of the type of projects we could tackle in a day's work:
Brochures
Rack Cards
Business Cards
Digital Ads
Print Ads
Banners
Signs
Postcards
Labels
Packaging
Social Media Graphics
Canva Templates
Each Design Day also includes time built into the cost to strategize and prep for your day as well as post-Design Day follow up for questions or last minute edits if needed.
